James has made a name for himself as an exciting, fast winger and is attracting Premier League interest from the very top clubs as a result.

It was revealed a few weeks ago that Manchester United was the most likely place for the 21-year-old to go in what will be a huge step up.

This is the first sign of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer attempting to rebuild a broken squad which won just two out of their last 12 games in all competitions and missed out on a place in the Champions League for the first time in three seasons.

But it is United that secured the deal for what James who is one of a number of up and coming Welsh talents.

Prior to United agreeing a fee with Swansea, Wales legend John Hartson spoke to the Daily Mirror about James’ potential move to Old Trafford.

Hartson said: “If they are offered in excess of £20 million for Daniel, then it’s difficult to turn down. It would also be hard to deny the boy the opportunity of playing for Manchester United.

“Ryan Giggs, the Wales manager, obviously believes in him. That was fantastic for his confidence.”
